Natural remedies for Fleas in Dogs range from using Cider vinegar to Lavander essential oils, but this one is new and different. Neem Oil and Neem water has been proven to have great effects as a flea repellent in Dogs and Bowines. Recently our dog was infected with fleas and the only way to remove it was with an injection . The idea of injecting a dog for fleas did not really go well with me and i started researching on how to get fleas to stay away from my dog. Powders and external remedies with chemicals were ok but risky as the dog tends to get scratchy and itchy, biting the area, ultimately consuming the powders and sprays. more over it wasnt so effective. Neem they said was a great way to prevent fleas and it was safe too. Fully natural. I thought of giving it a try. Neem oil, Which is extracted from neem leaves and concocted to oil and then applied to the dog makes the skin very repulsive to dogs. I was wondering if the dog would like it in the first place but my dog did not mind it one bit. Also Boiling Neem in water and spraying it all over the dogs body keeps fleas away.
I found that this method was used in ancient times in india to keep fleas and ticks away from Cows. Their shed was sprayed with Neem water and they cows itself were applied with Neem oil. The smell of neem is so strong that it keeps Most insects away and is extremely safe and beneficial for the cow.
