Slippery Elm Bark
Slippery Elm Bark – Wild Harvested is an all-natural herbal product made from the inner bark of the tree, Slippery Elm or Ulmus fulva, a species of elm native to eastern North America. The other common names include Indian Elm, Red Elm, Soft Elm, Gray Elm and Moose Elm.
Slippery elm inner bark has been used historically as a demulcent, emollient, expectorant, diuretic, and nutritive. It is also best known to soothe painful digestive issues. The mucilaginous inner bark of the Slippery Elm provides a soothing and protective barrier to the inflamed mucous membranes of the stomach, intestines, mouth and throat. It also protects the delicate membranes from heartburn.
Slippery Elm has been found very effective in treating the inflammatory digestive tract conditions such as gastritis, peptic ulcer disease or enteritis. It is most commonly used to treat sore throats where it is most typically taken as a lozenge.
The dosage is 30 to 60 drops, twice or thrice daily consumed along with water or juice. Slippery Elm Bark – Wild-harvested, a herbal product from Natural Wellbeing Distribution Inc., is prepared from ethically wild-harvested Slippery Elm bark. It is highly potent and of superior quality.
